Most private yachts in Indonesia carry a standard set of yacht water toys: at least one tender for transfers and excursions, snorkelling gear for every guest, and usually kayaks or stand-up paddleboards for exploring calm bays independently. Larger yachts add more, from jet skis to inflatable loungers, but the core kit of tender, snorkel gear and kayaks or paddleboards is close to universal across our fleet. Exactly which toys are on board depends on the yacht's size and the operator's own standard kit, so it is always worth checking the specific inclusions for your shortlisted boat rather than assuming every yacht carries the same equipment.
Tenders: the boat's shuttle
Every charter yacht carries at least one tender, a smaller motorboat used to ferry guests to shore, to dive and snorkel sites, and between anchorages when the main yacht cannot get close enough. Larger expedition vessels often carry two or more tenders, including a dedicated dive tender fitted with tanks and gear storage for daily dives. On a larger expedition vessel, a second, smaller tender is sometimes kept specifically for beach landings or shallow water, since the main tender can be too large to get close to a narrow stretch of sand.
Kayaks and paddleboards
Kayaks and stand-up paddleboards are included on the majority of boats in our fleet and are usually available to guests whenever the boat is at anchor in calm water. They are a simple way to explore a bay, reach a beach the tender has not gone to, or just get some exercise between meals, and do not require a crew member to operate. Life jackets are typically provided alongside the kayaks and paddleboards themselves, and crew are usually happy to give a quick safety briefing to anyone using them for the first time, particularly children.
Snorkelling gear
Masks, snorkels and fins are provided as standard on nearly every yacht, sized for adults and often for children too if you mention ages in advance. Some boats also carry underwater cameras or can arrange one, which is worth asking about if photos from the reef matter to your trip. Fins and masks come in a range of sizes on most boats, though guests with an unusual shoe size or a preference for their own well-fitted mask sometimes choose to bring their own from home.
Jet skis and other yacht water toys
A handful of larger and higher-end yachts in our fleet carry jet skis, or inflatable extras such as trampolines and floating loungers, mostly on the bigger expedition vessels and premium phinisi. These are the exception rather than the rule, so if a jet ski matters to your trip, browse the fleet or tell us when you enquire and we will check which yachts on your shortlist carry one. Where a jet ski is carried, crew usually set clear rules around where and when it can be used, both for guest safety and to avoid disturbing marine life or other boats anchored nearby.
Diving equipment
Where a yacht runs its own dive programme, tanks, weights and other diving equipment are usually included alongside the snorkelling gear, though a formal PADI course is normally billed separately. Wetsuits and buoyancy control devices are usually part of the standard dive kit on boats with a dive programme, sized for adults and sometimes for children, though keen divers often prefer to bring their own well-fitted gear.
What is included and what costs extra
Tenders, snorkelling gear and kayaks or paddleboards are almost always part of the standard rate, in the same way meals and crew are. Jet skis, when a boat carries one, sometimes come with an extra fuel charge, and any equipment brought on board specifically for your charter, rather than kept as standard kit, may be quoted separately. Your quote for a specific yacht will list exactly what is included. It is worth checking equipment condition and sizing availability if your group is larger than average or includes children, since a smaller boat may carry fewer spare sizes of fins, masks or life jackets than a large expedition vessel.

Are kayaks and paddleboards included in the charter rate?

Do all yachts have jet skis?
No, only a smaller number of larger or higher-end yachts carry jet skis. Tell us if this matters to your trip and we will shortlist boats that have one. Even where a jet ski is available, use is often limited to calmer anchorages away from reefs, snorkellers and other boats.
Can children use the water toys on board?
Generally yes, with crew supervision, though age and swimming ability should be discussed with the crew before children use a kayak, paddleboard or jet ski unsupervised. Many crews set a minimum age or require an adult to accompany younger children on a kayak or paddleboard, particularly in any current or near a drop-off.
What happens if I want to bring my own equipment?
Most guests are happy with what is provided, but you are welcome to bring your own snorkelling gear, an underwater camera or specialist dive equipment. Let us know in advance if you plan to bring anything bulky so the crew can plan storage.
